Prevent download of pdf squarespace

This feature can be found in the Custom CSS section. Scroll to the bottom of the panel and click on Manage Custom Files. Click the arrow button to select image or font files. Once the file has been uploaded, click on it to get the URL displayed on the code areas. The workaround Squarespace has for this is to use a third-party tool called Wufoo.

Basically, you will create a form in Wufoo then embed it on your Squarespace site using a Code Block.

With this approach, you will have to pay a monthly subscription to Wufoo. For example, prospects will fill out a request form on your website and once they hit the submit button, they will be taken to a Google Forms page to upload files. If you click and purchase, I may receive a small commission at no extra cost to you. You can sign-up for a free trial of Squarespace here. If you are new to my channel, welcome. I put out new videos every single week, all about making the tech in your online business easier, so if that is something that you would like some help with, make sure that you hit Subscribe down below and that you hit that little Bell icon, so you get notified every time I post a new video.

The way that you can easily add a PDF is to actually add in a Button. I have my free Guide to launching your own website - I have that right here. Let me just save this and show you what it looks like. Now, when someone clicks on this Button here, it is going to open up the PDF for them in a new window. Then, if they want to download the PDF, they can absolutely do that.

All they need to do is come up here and click this little Download button here. The way that is recommended by Squarespace is to use the program Issuu. This is really great — this is what it looks like. Basically, it allows you to display your PDF like an online magazine. For example, if I click this side arrow here, it flips the pages in a really nice way. And, you can resend and refresh the digital download through the dashboard in Squarespace as well.

While Squarespace introduced customer accounts last year, downloads are not available in the account management system.

Bummer, I know. It may not be relevant to you. DRM, or digital rights management, is a way to encode digital files with a fingerprint. More on that in a second. What the system does is require address information but not payment information for these items. Then, customers check out like normal and are emailed your freebie. This can be a dealbreaker for some people. Perhaps some of your products require a specific application to open or you have specific instructions for how you can use some items but not others?

You cannot customize that experience. And, if you love all the other elements of Squarespace, you can embed or link out to all these services on a sub-domain.

The instant delivery, flexibility to expire content, and ease of use make it very appealing. Anyone looking at focusing on digital products would be wise to give them a look. I truly believe that website owners need to use the proper platform for the job. That just sucks, and I always feel like a jerk when I deliver that news. I needed some advise from you in regards to digital product downloads. What is the best way to go about this? Any advise will be great. Thank you. Hi Baber! Hi Sara! Thank you so much for writing! So, is it possible to integrate SendOwl with SquareSpace then? Thanks you!! They are not working as far as getting this opened on phones. That is my goal. Any advice? I would consider uploading them as a zip file.

I set the 4 games up as service products in SS and am wanting to add custom code to pull in the activation code on the order confirmation page as well as in the order confirmation email. I have a code generator that will send the unique activation codes, on demand via API to SS with the customer checking out being the trigger. Is this possible to do? Turn your PDF into an image - there are a few ways you can do this, but the easiest and free!

Add the image to your Squarespace site - create an image block and upload your new image. Optional Create a clickthrough link to your PDF - If you want to be able to open the full PDF on its own page by clicking on the image, create a clickthrough link on the image.

Open up the image editor and under the Design tab, click on the gear icon. You can also choose whether you want the PDF to open in a new window. Then hit save! Arrange your blocks so it looks good - Add a page title, adjust your spacer block etc.

Don't forget to resize your browser and check the page on different devices. Note: If your PDF has multiple pages, you can either upload just the first page and have it link to the full PDF, or upload all of the pages using the method above.
