I everyone, I have installed Kodi on a fews Amazon Fire Tvs and Amazon Fire TV Sticks, on this moment I would like to have my installed Kodi and configurations shared on those devices using dropbox o any cloud services, because when Kodi release a new version I always have to got to each devices and install the new version and them import my configurations with all the addons, at least I would like to have the addons folder shared, so, when I install or delete an addons they upgrade on those devices automatically.

If you plan to use Kodi quite often, then I suppose it remains in the recents and this might be a very workable solution. The installation of something like ClassicTV however can be avoided indeed, unless you really want Kodi to be in your App Library permanently.

Since recents is the top menu it is easiest for me and my wife to find. First step is to train a random remote the buttons from the FTV. In the Flirc app, choose the Fire TV profile, and then click each button on the screen, and then press a button the crap IR remote to train it for that button.
It only has Up, Down, Left, Right by default. Then, click learn IR for each one, and point the other remote at the back of the Harmony remote and press the matching button. Some things people noticed after this is sometimes in the FTV you press a button and the menu moves twice. Set this number from 5 down to like 0 or 1. So now you have a Harmony remote that works just like the FTV remote. Last thing is to upload the keymap. You can see in my keymap.

Kodi is not showing up on recent when I purchased it from the Amazon link. I have the newest firmware. Maybe that has something to do with it. I have the ADP debugging options correct too. I think sleep is working now by itself but am not sure. It is also weird because I have barely used the device so I do not have Music set up or never used any of the other apps. I am sad because I have the latest firmware installed and I tried to not update it but I was not quick enough apparently.
It is a new device I got last week. I was thinking of returning it. Hans for my router, I just went into its settings and blocked 3 domains that Amazon uses to update.

Kodi crashing has been very rare for me. Although I have only seen that happen since the latest version, and only on very rare occasions when using a very particular add-on. Hi all, really informative stuff and really helpful in setting up my fire tv stick. Just not enough to start buffering again, but enough to annoy you when watching content. One solution that made a big difference for me was using an Ethernet connection instead of WiFi specially when there are multiple WiFi users in your home — tablets and cellphones included!
Since Ethernet is probably not an option with the Stick, I would most certainly try switching content provider when using an app like Genesis etc. All this of course under the assumption that you use one or the other streaming app to watch video. Just an update on my problem that i posted on earlier aboutthe juddering on fire tv with kodi. Interesting — I will give that a try and see if it improves on mine as well. I only experience it very occasionally when streaming video and have been blaming the provider and the Internet.
